Cnovel Roundup

I was in a bookshop last week & saw Dinghai Fusheng Records was out (& for some reason has a special edition because 7S are doing these for the first volume now? why?), which reminded me that they had announced a whole shitload of new licences, & I should get round to checking them out to see if they were worth buying (I got burned buying 2ha without reading anything first because it sounded like something I'd love, & I hated it). Downloaded a bunch of fantranslations for stuff that looked good, & am going through them in release order.

Started with DFR first seeing as it's already out, but I just couldn't get into it. Maybe it's just the opening but it was too goofy for me.

Next up was I & My Husband Sleep in a Coffin, which 7S has mercifully corrected to My Husband & I Sleep in a Coffin because someone there knows how English grammar works. Absolutely loving it. Was already good from the start, & then I got to chapter 21, where it's revealed that Highlight for spoilers!*this is a transmigration story (I mean it kind of is anyway, but I don't think it counts seeing as it was more reincarnating through multiple lifetimes to get there).* Like ooh this is interesting. I stopped reading at that point, because this is enough for me to decide I'm buying it, & the book comes out next week & I want to read it fresh. I plan to buy it, read the official translation, then go back to the fantranslation to read the rest, maybe skimming some bits in the first half to see how the translations compare.

300 Years of Longing was another I couldn't get into. Might be the first time I've been disappointed at finding something is a transmigration story. The way the 7S description was worded made it sound like the main character was an amnesiac who committed crimes while blacked out/possessed, which sounded like a really interesting setup.

Currently on Mistakenly Saving the Villain & I'm loving it so far. Though... villain? What villain? It is always morally correct to torture rapists, & my boy is doing nothing wrong. Keeping going with this one as it's not out till November, & with my memory I'll be down for a reread at that point.
