I have got to squee about Money is Coming! I had heard absolutely nothing about this & only found it when I went on a certain site (begins with A, ends with Z, if you know, you know) to see if The Blossoming Love had shown up there yet. It hadn't, but this one caught my eye while scrolling through recently-posted stuff. I'm telling you right now it's a transmigration story because the current MDL summary does not (it's so vague & bland & just waffles about how they face life's challenges with each other & other such stuff). It's also a mini drama but actually good with decent pacing. Episodes are about 18mins each (more like 15 once you remove opening & closing sequences), so it has more breathing room than dramas with 10 minute episodes where if you blink you miss the actual episode. It's beautifully shot considering its probably-not-high budget, with nice costumes, & the chemistry between the leads is adorable. ("What kind of mushroom are you?" "I'm the cutest little mushroom in the world." Iconic dialogue.) FL is sassy & smart, & ML manages to be both brooding & adorable.
I kind of wish they had made full length episodes, because they totally could have without the pace dragging, & there were a few connecting scenes I'd have liked to see (eg. Huailiu & Bai Luoqiu seeing the Prince's open door... & then we cut to next morning. Sure it's obvious how things went down & neither the story nor character arcs suffered, but I would have liked to see it.), but so far it's managing to tell its story well, & if I had to pick between a drama that maybe goes a little too fast that a few moments don't get enough chance to shine, & a drama that's putting me to sleep because the director thinks glacial pacing makes them a fucking auteur, I'll go with the former.
