I was expecting them to throw in some pointless misunderstanding & have her thinking he really had turned evil. But no, she’s not buying it, because they have actual healthy communication (!!!!!!!!) & she trusts him to have told her if he had picked up the Sky-Slashing Sword. And also because she knows he’s a badass who wouldn’t fail at murdering someone (even though he technically has, with TTML)
DON’T EVEN TELL ME YOU DON’T SEE IT
He’s relying on the Devil God’s power, but he’s using it for good

Truly, a miracle
Better late than never I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice
Those scholars who are giving Tantai Jin lessons on statesmanship need to get onto the subject of employment rights
She’s not even allowed to eat any demons! :(
I love it
Tantai Jin:

Gotta admit, as bored as I am with the dream arc & impatient for it to be over with, I’m still frustrated with how it’s been handled compared to the novel. Sang Jiu telling Ming Ye to fuck off when he explains himself is a badass scene, but it works way better in the novel because he was legit an absolute arsehole to her.
He treats her like shit & everyone in the realm bullies her because they’re Ming Ye/Tian Huan shippers who know they won’t be called out on it. He only starts to realise he has feelings for her while he’s injured, & even then he pushes them away when Tian Huan shows up & lies to him.
And when he finally realises that he fucked up & apologises, even though he genuinely means it, it’s too little, too late, & she tells him she doesn’t love him anymore because of fucking course she doesn’t after all that. And I love that we get something saying that actually no, sometimes love does not conquer all. I know, I know, I’m saying that while watching a romantic xianxia, but still. It’s nice to add a lil pessimism sometimes, just for spice. Especially because the whole point of this arc is basically ‘life sucks & then you die’ & he’s left stewing in his own resentment for millennia while holding onto Sang Jiu’s memory because he knows he fucked up & wasn’t able to fix his own mistakes & he never ever will.
Like as much as I’ve liked going BOO! HISS! @ Tian Huan, the fact that she is the sole villain here while Ming Ye is just an innocent dumbass with communication issues is frustrating.
The gods’ costumes have been amazing though. A+ job there, costume department.
