Traded in my PSVR2 because there weren't enough games for me to justify keeping it around. Job Simulator & Vacation Simulator are fun (being able to throw fireworks at customers in the retail simulation makes justifies the purchase alone), but there's limited replayability. I was pretty much only playing Beat Saber, & that's a short bursts gaming thing. What's wild is I sold my PSVR1 because I felt like I wasn't getting enough use out of it, & I had more games I could play on that. TBH I was just going through a gaming slump, & if I hadn't needed money for something I'd probably have picked it up again eventually. In a way the PSVR1 is the root of my frustrations with PSVR2, because there are VR games I'd love to replay, but they're not on PSVR2. Catch & Release, Esper, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, & while I can still play Bound in flatscreen, it was amazing in VR. There's just nowt I'm interested in on PSVR2.

So what do I do with the credit I got for trading it in at CEX? Bought a PS Vita of course. Renowned for how many games it got released for it! But the games I played on it are fun, & it's not like it takes up a lot of space, & I can play it while I'm out. I only sold mine so I could pre-order Ghost of Tsushima & I've missed having one. Already looking forward to replaying Tearaway.

Had plenty of credit left over, so also picked up a Pulse Elite headset (the fancier version of Sony's wireless overear headphones, with an extendable microphone), because I could do with a proper gaming headset.

Annoyance of the day: My train was delayed so popped into the branch of Pumpkin in Darlington Station. Asked for a pumpkin spice, but was told they didn't have any. Even though everyone else had theirs out & the place is literally called Pumpkin, but ok. I prefer flavoured coffees, so asked what options were available, & she just gestures at a cluster of syrup bottles shoved into a corner behind the counter, looking annoyed. What ones are there? She won't tell me. Just pick one! There were maybe 15 bottles - surely listing them real quick would be quicker than having me try to guess what ones you have (especially given we've already established that a super obvious one that every other coffee shop has isn't available here, & I'm sure if I ask for something else they don't have its gonna be a sign of me being difficult or something). Vaguely remembering the glory that was Starbucks' dark cherry mocha (every year I hope they bring it back, & every year I am disappointed), I ask if there is anything with cherry. Score! There was sour cherry. Cool, I'll have that as a mocha. No problem right? No! Once again I am bad & wrong because I'm not psychic. 'Ugh that would be better with black forest flavour syrup'. Why the fuck didn't you list that as an option when I asked for fucking cherry flavoured syrups then??! And then of course she grabs a regular cup to make it before I can tell her what size I want (I'm gonna be waiting while), & stomps back to grab a large with an expression more sour than the cherry syrup when I stop her before she can make the size she thinks I want.

I sure hope when the upgrades to the station are done there are more options for coffee.

I recently finished playing Tearaway, & damn it’s one of the most amazing games I’ve ever played. It doesn’t so much break the fourth wall as disregard the concept of walls entirely, & you yourself appear in the game as a mighty all-seeing god looking down from the sun, with the front & rear cameras of the vita bringing bits of your surroundings into the game.

It utilises all the features of the vita as well, you tap on the back panel to give the character a boost, peel things aside using the touch screen, record sounds with the microphone & take photos with the camera, tilt the console to move platforms, create things by drawing them on the screen & cutting them out. And as you go you can collect items that unlock templates to make actual papercrafts you can download.

All that & it’s a huge amount of fun, & while tricky in places, it’s never actually frustrating (except getting the last few bastard bits of confetti on The Tear -_-). And it’s imaginative & uniquely designed, with cute things like being able to take in-game photos.
