Shadow Love - impressions

Maybe it's because of how great When Destiny Brings the Demon has been, I just could not get into this one. That red curtain aesthetic did not work & the opening sequence looked cheap. As for the end credits, I have zero memory of what they looked like as I was too distracted by the song - did they record it in a cave or something? The first few minutes were pretty jumbled & they really struggled to set things up coherently. Highlight for spoilers! *And what was going on with that sacrifice scene? Did the Evil Concubine invite the emperor for a romantic snuggle/nap time by the creepy lake in a creepy cave & he go along with it? Did they move the bed with him asleep in it? If so how did they get it out of the palace? Did nobody have questions?* As for the filming, it was perfectly adequate, if not great, but going straight from WBBtD to that was... Well the difference was noticeable. Definitely a little unfair, & I'd probably push through, but: Annoying child character. Ugh.
