I recently watched this gorgeous C-pop performance.
He's so charmingly expressive. Someone in the comments said 'elegance of a noble with the playfulness of a youth' and that's absolute BARS.

Hi folks, I hope you all are doing well. Not good at doing these intro things, but I'll give it a try. I'm Lesley. I'm in my late thirties, happily married and I have one cat child. I love books of all types, I'm currently making my way through the Dungeon Crawler Carl books, Tv shows including The Golden girls, How I met your Mother, Grace and Frankie and others. I love all kinds of music, and I enjoy baking. I welcome people of all backgrounds and stuff, I'm a Christian myself. as for what I write about in here, To be honest, there's only one entry in here, but I plan on changing that. I will most likely write about daily life things, and sometimes about what I'm watching/reading/listening to as well as mental and physical health stuff. I am totally blind, so sometimes I will write about that. If there is anything else you wanna know, feel free to take a peak at the profile. I will be writing in here probably every few days to every week. Depends on the mood I'm in. I hope all of you have a good day, and if you celebrate them, happy holidays

Name: Georgiana or Georgie. Neither is my legal name, but they are what I use here and in most situations.
Age: Forty-two.
I mostly post about: Entries may consist of anything from short summaries of my day, to surveys, to essays on various topics, to interesting links and quotes that I find, along with my commentary on them. Lately, I have been writing reviews of opera recordings from the 1950's and earlier. I have no interest in politics and modern celebrities. I wish to keep my journal light and happy as much as possible.
My hobbies are: studying dandyism, Received Pronunciation, the Regency, and the Italian language, reading, writing, cooking, baking, playing cards and dice, and enjoying warm weather.
My Other Interests include: coffees, teas, antique menswear and accessories (usually Edwardian), chamber and classical music, old opera singers, plants and gardening, crafts, and history and nature documentaries. I love wit, wordplay, and sarcastic humour without vulgarity. I also love cats.
My fandoms are: I don't have any.
I'm looking to meet people who: are positive, who share my interests and can introduce me to some new ones, and who enjoy at least some elements of high culture. While the minimum age I will add is twenty-one, I tend to get along with those who are older than I, particularly seniors. I am also single and searching, but since this isn't a dating community, I'll just say that you can find more about that in one of the sticky entries in my journal. You can also find my Mastodon and Escargot.chat information there.
My posting schedule tends to be: It varies, from a few posts in a given week to a few in a single day. Often, I post what I call filler entries toward the end of the month. These are entries posted on one date but for another. I try to post a few entries per week.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: minors (I prefer at least over twenty-one), depression and/or anxiety (posted regularly), bad self-esteem, life drama, recreational drugs, religion or politics (posted regularly), a lot of bad grammar and spelling (unless you're learning English), and frequent obscenities. Please note that I am totally blind, so if you mostly post images, I won't be able to comment on them, as I cannot see them.
Before adding me, you should know: I have no time for political correctness, lies, or drama. While I always try to be civil during discussions, I share my opinion without reservations. If you are easily offended, please do not add me. I have a very dry and witty sense of humour. Otherwise, feel free to read my profile and/or posts and add me if you wish. I will most likely reciprocate. I also comment when I have something to say, but there are times when I don't read my friends' page for awhile, and I am trying to change that.

Tips for Getting Unstuck
No matter how much planning you do, there is always an opportunity for a writer to get stuck. Maybe your characters don’t agree with your plan, or you realize the plot twist is too obvious, or for whatever reason today this scene just doesn’t want to be written. Regardless of what’s actually going on, the bottom line is that you’re stuck in your writing and you need to not be stuck.
Let’s talk about some ways to apply a little grease and get your draft moving again.
( Tips for Getting Unstuck )
How do you go about getting unstuck while you’re drafting? Have you tried any of these strategies? And if you’re stuck right now and want to throw spaghetti at a wall, some of us will be around in the comments.

Welcome to Topic Tuesday! Right away I want to stress that discussion posts are always welcome to the community, you don't have to wait until a Topic Tuesday rolls around, and then maybe be disappointed by the current topic of discussion. Whenever you want to talk about something, please simply make a separate entry to this comm, no matter the week, the time, or the topic. All right? *g*
Today's topic is Your Highlight(s) of the Year. 2025 is almost over, so let's take a moment to look back. What were your highlights of the year? Which drama/movie/novel was your favourite, or made the year memorable for you? Did you fall in love with a new actor or singer? Or find a new song/piece of music that seems stuck in your head on an endless loop? Go into detail as much or as little as you like, and leave links if you want.
As usual, if you want to talk about spoilers, please use one of these codes to hide them.

13 Minutes to the Moon is a podcast about the history of NASA, rich with both current and saved interviews and audio recordings of transmissions between astronauts and mission control. It's well made, well researched and well presented. But it is also the centre of a bit of ~drama~.
In one of the earliest episodes there was a throwaway comment about how the show knows that including diverse voices is important, but they really want to focus on the raw details from people who were actually there, and the people that were actually there were straight, white men so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Which is, frankly, bullshit.

(reposting this from my journal)

Fourble was originally set up to listen to 1940's radio series in an easy way. "Fourble turns lists of .mp3 files into podcasts. Point it at some audio files hosted anywhere online, and it'll turn them into a podcast feed which you can subscribe to and share."
It has a lot of old radioplays, audiobooks, some new audiodrama, and talk shows. This is where I found Julian Simpsons' Pleasant Green universe I mentioned in my The Lovecraft Investigations post. You simply choose the thing you want to listen, choose the frequency you want the episodes dropped, and read the QR code with your phone. Easy peasy!

Hello, new community! 🙋♀️
I've been an avid audiodrama listener for over a decade and don't really remember everything I've listened to but I do have a pretty long rec list of the shows I recommend to people. I also write short reviews on stuff I listen to, tagged audiodrama/podcasts: recommend. All my AD/podcast content is tagged with audiodrama/podcasts.

Pre-orders have opened for the print editions of three baihe novels. All three are from Taiwanese publishers, so will be in traditional Chinese and uncensored.
The first is Spring Remains the Same (春如旧, pinyin: chun ru jiu) by Ruo Hua Ci Shu (若花辞树), a historical court intrigue novel with a cross-dressing main character. This is coming out from Taiwanese publisher morefate, and has a striking and unusual cover design. The web version of the novel can be read here.
The second is Our Happiness (属于我们的幸福, pinyin: shuyu women de xingfu), which collects two (novella-length?) contemporary romances, authored by Li Zi Li (李子李) and Ling Ling Ren (零零人) respectively. Li Zi Li seems to have a profile on Taiwanese webnovel platform Popo, which features a mixture of mostly danmei and yanqing works. I couldn't find much information about Ling Ling Ren on a cursory search. This edition is published by Caiyi Books.
The third is Whispers After the Spotlight (在流量引爆以后, pinyin: zai liuliang yinbao yihou) by Liu Li (琉璃), a contemporary romance between a cafe owner and an ex-YouTube star. This edition is published by Qianyu. Liu Li (author page here) writes across a range of romance and non-romance genres; her romance-focused titles are predominantly baihe, but there is also some danmei and yanqing. She previously published on JJWXC under the name Liu Li Xing Ren (琉璃星人), and has since terminated her relationship with them. However, a couple of her works (including a femslash fic for Jin Yong's The Heaven Sword and the Dragon Sabre (倚天屠龙记, pinyin: yitian tulong ji), can still be read there.
All three titles can be pre-ordered via Feiqin. The latter two can also be pre-ordered via books.com.tw, which also carry the ebook versions.

The weekly chat posts are intended for just that, chatting among each other. What are you currently watching? Reading? What actor/idol are you currently following? What are you looking forward to? Are you busy writing, creating art? Or did you have no time at all for anything, and are bemoaning that fact?
Whatever it is, talk to us about it here. Tell us what you liked or didn't like, and if you want to talk about spoilery things, please hide them under either of these codes:

- podcasts, both fiction and non-fiction
- audiobooks
- podfics
- audio essays - YouTube or other video formats are fine as long as it can be enjoyed without visuals
- apps, platforms or websites to access or discover any of the above.
Just created and I'm keen to post some content soon, but also thrilled if anyone else wants to jump in and share some aural joy.
