Recently played Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, & wow. What an experience. Bit rocky for a while, as it turned out to be one of those first person games that sets off my motion sickness something awful, but I’d been playing for long enough before it had set in that I felt invested in the story, & wanted to see it through. With a bit of persistence & a lot of having to take breaks to lie down, I pushed through, & after a while I got used to the movement & got the hang of handling the camera smoothly & felt fine.
Might not even be accurate to call it a game - it’s more of a strange, interactive storybook playing out the weirdest episode of The Archers ever - & plenty of people have bitched about that, but I liked it. Sometimes ya wanna go all out hitting demons with swords, & sometimes ya just wanna wander round a beautiful yet somehow sinister post-apocalyptic village in the 1980s just admiring the scenery & shaking your head at how, man Stephen is such a wanker.
And I got myself a platinum for my efforts. Yay.
